Seems the 4Q18 clamp-down on travel has just carried-over into 1Q19, as just received word of this in Systems group. Don't know how widespread.
Guessing 4Q18 results are not looking too rosy. . .

This time last year, I couldn't order a $10 box of business cards without VP approval.
IBM is a known loser in hybrid cloud. They need to cut their losses, not keep feeding the machine.
I remember working there when they would not even provide office supplies during bad quarters.
I am in Hybrid-Cloud, 2 VPs were let got in 2018 and their teams consolidated under another VP. So I think the middle management purge is happening though rather slowly.
IBM has been applying this bandaid for years I steD of addressing the problem of having meetings for the sake of having meetings. They aren’t the only compAny - however IBM is bloated with more middle management than most. This is also the reason why it takes forever to get anything done in an era where success is driven by being agile. Cutting middle management is long, long overdue at IBM
That was expected... there is no miracle. This company has lost focus on what is important which is running a business. 2019 is going to be a bloodbath.
So many empty suits substituting activity for work. They keep moving around going to different meetings but no one notices they haven't produced anything in a decade. So much bloat and waste.
