Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowe’s hiring more than 6000 seasonal workers in Canada

Wonder if this is the same spin as it happened in the US. Hiring cheap seasonal part-timers while laying off experienced longtime workers. I imagine it’s the same vicious circle in which the ones that gave the most to the company will grab the shorter stick.

Lowes likes to hire young people because they will work for less. The irony of this is Lowes has young people making more than the older people they supervise. We have two service managers that still live at home. Their moms cook and do their laundry for them. One mom even brought her son lunch when he left it at home.

I could pass the d--g test or any other kind of test may have.

I applied for one of the part time openings, got the in store interview and the the rejection email, lol.

I have quite a bit of experience, never ever late or miss work and perfect references.

The girl that interviewed me was probably all of 20 years old, smh.

I can't speak for any long time employee being laid off but I have noticed all the Lowes in my area are hiring like crazy for new part timers for the upcoming Spring season.

I was told these jobs will begin at the end of this month.
