I personally think Icahn and team are transforming Xerox into an SMB Sales Powerhouse vs. Technology Powerhouse. They will inquire with those who may be interested in purchasing a newly slimmed down national SMB sales organization and sell to the highest bidder. And then, we will put our sticker on whatever machine they want us to sell and hit the streets.

Potential buyers include Fuji, HP, Private Equity, Office Max (in light of Staples acquisition), or another manufacturer like Canon or KM. If we don't sell to Fuji, we will keep iGen & Impika/Trivor as well as the other technology being developed, and we continue on as a different kind of company.

With all of the job cuts, outsourcing, dismantling of GIS, splitting from FX, reduction in R&D budgets, etc., it looks to me that Icahn, John V and Deason only see the value in the Xerox 'brand' and that everything else are just cost centers that need to be eliminated. Basically, have other parties develop, launch, and maintain products and then slap the Xerox brand on it.

i’m with an GIS core... one of our smaller offices is closing by month end. employees are offered to work from home for now ... just this week xerox has sent a survey crew to do inside and outside measurements. assuming this touches on the “real estate” topic ... they want to pack us all in like sardines

Icahn and Visentin are gutting Global Imaging and tying to make it like the failed Xerox Direct model. Why screw up a highly profitable subsidiary and close the majority of their offices? Piss off the employees and piss off your customers. In 6 months, the revenue numbers will be abysmal.
