BYOD harassment

Is anyone else feeling harassed about putting BYOD on their phone. How do we cancel it? I signed up but never downloaded it. I don’t want any part of it.

Seriously? BYOD? F that! As one poster mentioned, this is a multi-billion dollar company. They can afford supplying each associate with a TC70 and them some.

The majority are in favor. The bottom 2 percent of each club always find fault in anything that’s offered. This site nor the opinions presented here represent the majority of associates. There’s always the ones you’ll never please.

@3jbi the club manager can put an order in at any time. Doesn’t necessarily mean it will get approved but walkies and telexons are not cheap either as stated below. You’ve probably had multiple round ups. At some point enough has to be enough. If you want to hide them so be it, but then don’t b--ch when an alternative is given and you don’t want to jump on board because you’re afraid someone will look at your text messages 🙄. It’s a job. Stop feeling like you’re owed something. You get a paycheck each week. If your not happy go find it stop making it worse for those around you

Additionally wtf does it matter what jf and gr do? That’s part of their job is to go out and visit clubs just like you have a job to come to work and get stuff done. Stop blaming everyone else with issues in your club. Your cm runs your club not them, not the mm, not the rgm. Stop placing blame everywhere else. It’s getting rather old. Run the club.

@2wow when are they spending thousands on walkies and tc70? We have had the same walkies year after year after year. If any of them disappear they do not get replenished. If the batteries wear out, they do not give us new ones. Same with the tc70. We got a small amount and that was it. It's going to be the same with those. No replacement, not maintenance, no new batteries.

But you know what thousands is being wasted on? Flying John and Giselle all over the country doing nothing worth justifying why all the money that is spent.

It’s amazing the amount of intelligence Walmart/Sams club associates lack.

@1bnq you are offered byod for convenience. Take it or leave it.

If everyone turned in the equipment like they should or treated it like it was there’s then clubs wouldn’t be spending thousands on new walkies or handhelds.

Please, no one wants to see your photos or your texts. You’re not high enough on the food chain.

The small print is the same for everyone in any company that uses a Byod system. It’s not Walmart that made the fine print it’s the developer of the app...

Hourly BYOD is a trap and you need to seriously resist this. It's not adapting to the future or better helping members it's a bad joke to get you to do more for same/less pay.

You should not be bothered off the clock nor expected to do more for less. Do not fall for any plan/service discount either.

AirWatch can access/track things on your personal device that your employer has no business having access to.

How about they provide the tools and resources needed to do the job? Why are TC70's allowed to be locked up and/or hidden when CIM is expected to be accomplished?

This is the most innocuous form of harassment this company subjects its employees to. Just don't do it!

When my battery dies, is Sam's going to replace my phone? When a customer hits me and my phone drops or the screen cracks, is Sam's going to replace my phone? NO. They need to supply the tools to do my job. Period!

Hey 25 year associate!!!

It’s associates like you who do not stand up for what is right. We need to be consistent and not have knee jerk reactions all the time. Open your eyes and start reacting.

This is a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY why do I need to pay for equipment to do my job?!?! They can buy the stuff we need if they cut out the waste and stop buying stuff before they make sure it’s going to work! NO WAY am I going let them follow me around if I’m not working!

If you read the agreement you have to say yes to, I believe it states that you agree to give them access to your pictures, texts, emails, etc.

I think the company is pusHing it to spy on associates and so they don’t have to buy hardware anymore. If they can get you to adopt this, they get your private information and free equipment.

That’s just my take on it though.

Everyone that gets the opportunity to get it is lucky. North Dakota is one of a few states where hourly associates cannot have BYOD on their phones due to a state law forbidding them from working of the clock.. I would love to have the opportunity to even say yes or no.

If the company doesn't want access to your photos and texts then why do you have to give them permission to access them in the user agreement? Either don't do it or get a burner phone.

Relax everyone. The company doesnt look up anything on your phone. Maybe instead of being scared of everything, embrace change and maybe get on board with the technology that helps do your job easier. Or dont. Dont matter to me. I dont know you people.

Be sure to read the small print on what you are allowing the clones to have access to. Photos, emails, and texts included!!!

Hell no! Then they can fire you for texting about your job to a coworker. Screw that!

I like Byod it is not that bad to have. It’s just like having any other app on your phone like Wells Fargo or Instagram or Facebook. I do not see why people have an issue with everything that the company is doing. They are going to do what they want. I say get over it or get out. I have been with the company over 25 years and we make changes every year if not that every 2 years over my time. I have been displaced once and I’m still here. If you want to be with Sams or any company they’ll keep you if you’re worth it if you’re not worth it of course you’re going to complain because you know they’re not gonna keep you when the time comes for your position to be looked at. Stop are you crying out there there’s nothing we can do about it whatever the company wants to do we have no choice but to roll with it if we stay or leave. I only have two more years till I retire so until then I’ll keep laughing at everyone complaining Like there’s anything that can be done about it.

There is a weekly report that shows how many additions your store has compared to the market. Don't know why they're pushing it without an incentive.

No my managers try to be subtle with it. Always over the top when they help us, like helping us out with fst, like we are going to ask how they how are doing it.

Not being harassed at my club. I too signed up for it... Till i saw all the access it wants from my phone, I've chosen not to install it on my phone.

So you have nothing to back out of if. Just dont install it, youll be all set.
