At one time not all that long ago, UPPD was the envy of all the other roads. Our K9 program was the benchmark for the other RRPD’s, we led the way on legislative change, represented all railroad police at various LE associations and our Officers were compensated better than the other roads. In a few short years things all changed. That dip sh– Bob Gramalia needed a puppet to head the department. Thus, we ended up with the spineless hillbilly you have all discussed. Those who kissed his a– and went along with the program were rewarded with bonuses & promotions while those who resisted ended up on the street. There were a few of us who tried to bring some common sense and true ‘police’ thinking to the table but it always ended up with us getting kicked out of the meetings and eventually out of the department.

Watch your back guys. There still are snakes among the rank and file. Omaha staff always has their group of b–che’s they rely. Most likely they won’t be affected by the cuts.

Sorry to hear about the layoffs. I started UPPD in 1988. Some of you might know me as I wore a uniform (couldn’t see running around in plain clothes with other agencies around) and had the first marked car with lights and siren in the dept. it seemed to be taking a stride toward being a recognized dept. but sadly never got out of the political arena with upper management not caring about its officers. I was let go for a bogus cause to save face for others as I had enough time and years to collect retirement. Could have been a good dept. except for the spineless management. For those of you still working. Stay Safe out there.

LOL!!!!!!! I about p-ss-d myself reading the comment about the trio of f---tards that run/were running the police department. The three of those dipshits couldn't make a decision if their d---s were fire. Whoever wrote the original post, should be promoted to Executive Vice President over seeing the police department. The only correction to the post for that spectacular analysis of the three r----ds who look like they are monkeys trying to f--- a football, would be to add the king dip sh--, the brainless, Bob Morrison. The spineless, gutless, worthless, puke, piece of sh-- had the brain engagement of a burnt out light bulb. Of course he promoted the three mo--ns. Right into capacities that they never should have been in. What they should be now is three half r----ded security guards bumbling around in the night trying to find a flash light and hoping no one asks them for directions.

Don’t worry, the railroad is safe...how are they selling that we are dedicated to safety of our employees and the public? How does the federal government not see the fassad for what it is. The railroads are vulnerable and more so everyday. The railroad is totally reactionary based to any potential threats and cannot really prevent a thing. I hope all are safe.

But did they get rid of three c--- s---ers such as Tom Mengel, Brian Jarett and Mark Rowley, or are these incompetent r----ds still running the place?

3 out of Portland/Eugene, but they offered others moving packages to go to the same area and fill their positions. Lost a lot of good people with years and years of service. Sad day for the UP Police.

Soon as crossing accidents spike and container doors are flying open with property all off the right of way they will be crying.

Every local law enforcement agency knows UP is a joke and doesn’t care about its Officers. You can tell with the poor equipment they have. Look at UP police vehicles compared to BN. I’m sure the moral of the Special Agents and been throw on the ground. Let’s see if they care anymore, because the higher ups don’t.
