Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Walmart doesn’t believe in Sam’s anymore?

When I see the retorque of WM officials it seems to me that they have turned their backs away from Sam’s and don’t see it as a serious part of its corporate structure. What happens if that is true? Will we downfall without WM’s Support? Maybe they plan to sell off Sam’s in the near future?

It would be hard for anyone to believe in SAMS club when the associates don’t even do that. They want to throw around mr Sams name and what he would be doing right now. Honestly he was a business man and he would be doing whatever it took to gain market share like he did many years ago. So with all of this throwing around that they’re selling off the bigger question becomes why would they give up market share. Selling off would mean giving market share right back to amazon or even Costco. Does the question presented by the poster even make sense if you truly are thinking about the business and what makes sense or is it to get a rise out of people?

Really. Are you new or just have an hourly mentality? While Sams is under the Walmart umbrella it doesn’t mean that they do not operate as two separate companies. How many companies does Walmart own now? Plenty and you wouldn’t have an idea unless you saw the paycheck w Walmart written at the top. Stop speculating when you are ignorant on businesses models.

Sams is going 3rd party for construction, all maintenance, store planning etc. it is Sams that wants to go it alone. Good luck.
