Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Is Management aware of this HR postings for job positions while company is cutting people out to save apparent company cost?

Funny how the company is trying to save up costs but cutting people out I mean “valuable assets for years” for this company yet I can’t help notice how HR keeps on adding more job postings.. is management in tune with these people? Cuz clearly management is not even aware of previous department complaints.

I agree but we all know a local employee will never be under qualified. Specially with so many assets internally whom are not given a chance to take over by management and hr applying procedures. Silicon Valley is a great example.. but i have seen they do try to prioritize local options and they never down pay quality. They also develop personnel and clearly they are so much better in their environment and interactions. Their hr ain’t posting every week and when they do.. clearly it is quality over quantity.

Another thing it may be. If a company can make a case that they can't find the employees they need they can apply to use non-US citizens to fill the roles. This is the H1B visa program. You have to "make an effort" to hire onshore before you can bring in an offshore resource though, so these new job postings may be their attempt at saying "we posted the jobs but didn't get qualified applicants", opening the door for them to bring in headcount from India to do it much cheaper. Tech companies in Silicon Valley like Facebook and Google have been doing it for years.

From what I can gather in the cases I've seen, they are IRIF'ing the "expensive" positions then rehiring at a lower rate, especially if the rehire is offshore. But even if the rehire is onshore, they can IRIF a position that was $50k with someone that doesn't have as much experience for $30k. Or, they can rehire a 1099 contract employee and get out of having to pay the Benefit load.

Why does John V keep saying that the company only has 32,000 workers when the org chart says that we have over 39,000 people Technically some of those people may be listed as "Contingent workers" but they are still a body taking up space, getting a paycheck and counting towards the org chart.

How ironic... let’s get rid of all the people in the us that actually held the company even in its’ worst. And let’s have all the low cost offshore talent take over to keep on screwing tasks by Investing more time in retraining them without no guarantee they will perform properly and having them screw up the job paying them the same salary amounts that match the ones of people who have been let go.. to save “costs”. A week before! So why are u firing people of ur rehiring the next week under qualified people generating more cost? What hr team is this? Who is in the board of this company that doesn’t even evaluate internal structures or departments? Job profiles? Anybody? Are we just hiring just because or are u generating postings to get some workload for ur department done? Take under consideration previous post complaints.. of this department’s lack of performance. I think it is key to have a great team to restructure this company again and stop this in and out posting.. week after week! Maybe they should start clearing the area and letting actual leaders that can streamline the personnel and business takeover and stop fooling around!
