Anyone with a brain knows you can save money and boost the share price by canning people. But it takes a few more brain cells to realize that unless they’re c-appy employees, you’re just screwing your long term success for the sake of this quarter.

The hiring incentives were to lure families to the jobs so Fritz and his bandits could cash in on the huge tax deductions for hiring so many. They were never going to honor their commitments. Ruining so many young people lives. It’s imorral. They will be judged some day.
Hiring bonuses were a hoax because of all the stipulations it was near impossible to actually get the 25k in te&y. Probably why all the new guys are resigning. I constantly hear new people say they are looking elsewhere for other employment opportunities. Can’t say I blame them.
Exactly, Vena and Knight too. Homeless people with mental disorders can make short term gains cashing in human capital and warehousing locomotives. They would work for less and it is not exactly rocket science, liquidating one time assets, forgoing safety and maintenance obligations. It is just no long term plan.

Not going to happen. They will gladly spend $12 million on one person just to save $2 million! Want a peak for the future at UP , just take a look at the CSX thread on this site.
