Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Loss Prevention 2 Week or 1

Can everyone post how many hours or weeks equivalent of severance pay they were offered in the severance package.

I have a feeling that they are varied, my amount was for way more than it should be as far as weeks equalled out.

Did anyone get 2 weeks per year or did everyone get 1 week per year. Round up if you were close to the hire date anniversary.

Reason is I think if I got more than maybe someone got less. Perhaps they don't think we will share info that might negate a potential class action suit.

If they didn't follow the severance policy with everyone equally we have the right to know.

To @XCijUlp- & the others who haven't received their severances packages to sign, or who still show you are in the system as an employee.

LAWSUIT...FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

These jack wagons cannot even terminate it's employees correctly. They screwed us over, now let's get off our asses, and give it back to them in spades.

For everyone that has not received their packages yet, a heads up. I called Corporate HR and I was never taken out of the system. So technically I’m still employed... and no severance. I am beyond p-ss-d off and upset. . Store manager tells me that it was Corporate HR that was suppose to handle the termination, Corporate HR tells me it was suppose to be done on store level. I can’t even start to explain what f---ing sh-- show this is.

Got the severance letter today. I was employed 16 yrs. I got paid for 18 yrs. BUT only 1 week NOT 2 per year w/out OT. Nothing was mentioned about my bonus. They also send me a separation letter dated 2/16/19???!!! I called the HR Service Center @ 1-844-475-6937 told them my issues and gave me a case number. They said that they will look into my issues and get back to me. They also told me that they are aware of the issue with the separation letters. For those who got paid 2 weeks per year sign and send back ASAP.

They are being mailed out via UPS 2 Day Air. Sign up for a UPS account and make sure you put your correct mailing address in your profile. They sent me an email Friday stating I would get a package from Lowes Corporate Mailroom and it came yesterday. I was able to track the package right up until it arrived at my door. You have to be home to sign for it so make sure you sign up for the UPS account so you know the time frame.

Have not received mine either. Many in my district have also received theirs. Does anyone know when these were mailed out and by what carrier? I tried calling the HR line and get the 14 day speal. This is beyond frustrating.

I got 2 weeks for every year, total 5 years. So they rounded up for years served and paid me my hourly base rate for an 80 hour pay period with no OT. It will be taxed at the standard 25%. Nowhere in the paperwork does it say anything about bonuses or SSEI but it does have wording saying if you sign this, you’re agreeing Lowe’s doesn’t owe you any more money after this severance so I’m guessing that means no bonus, SSEI. No one at corporate or former leadership can give me a straight answer on bonuses so I’ll just wait and see if something shows up in March. I’ll be honest, I was kind of shocked they went with 2 weeks instead of 1 like we were told so I’ll take it and move on.

I have yet to receive mine too. I’m guessing their going alphabetically. We deserved the 2 weeks considering that’s what they have done for every other terminated employee. I’ve read so many different suggestions as to why it was higher than it should be... I guess we will just have to wait and see.

They changed the disbursement of the LP severance package. We were given 2 weeks of straight pay (80 hours/no OT) for every year of service. I did the math on my own personal severance and I have several peers in my market that did the same thing. It was supposed to be one week for every year, but I'm guessing they upped the ante to avoid possible lawsuits.

Several threads down is one about an LP bonus. Perhaps that is the reason for the discrepancy.

1 week per year 18 weeks maximum. The PSI’s got 2 weeks of severance per year. As usual, the LP team got screwed. Thanks Marvin.

Supposedly it's one week per year. Max 18 weeks paid minimum 4.

Did anyone get 2 weeks equivalent?
