Our team was briefed by the director that all Network Assurance Managers are going to spend 40% of their time in the field. This is going to be interesting since we haven't seen them in field for years. Currently they drive company vehicles to and from home and hang out in the office attending meetings. They are also overstaffed because of the headcount reductions. It looks to me like Verizon is going to be evaluating managers for future reductions.

I don't know what you are talking about, I bust my butt everyday day here! Yeah, there are some slow days, like maybe 5 in all of 2018 but for the most part I am doing the work assigned and it's a full 8 hours. On the other hand where we have VZB I see them milking tickets like crazy. One VZB tech came into my site, sat at the table and watched a movie, milking the ticket. Meanwhile I was working my butt off changing out radio's. The dude did not even bother to asked if he could help me! I was packing up my tools and said, OK... I am out of here, closed my ticket. I asked, what did you do. "Nothing, they sent me here to take a photo, gave me two hours on the ticket, so I milked the full two hours."....
I'm surprised network assurance hasn't been outsourced yet
take the kids to school, send out some emails, figure out lunch, open some vendor work orders, head home by 3.

This is what our directive was before they completely gutted my org. Everyone get out there and look busy! It is simply a failed self preservation tactic. I would be ready for unemployment within 12 months.
