Thread regarding Sears layoffs

smollett nigfig now just a fake put-on what does this have to do with Sears

can Sears actually survive with lots of smaller format stores ? maybe if they stick with appliances - I have old Kenmores that are still working great decades old.

@XFb9EhT-wff Jesus Christ, a stall. A stalling tactic. A way for the company to continue to exist while still slowly liquidating. I'm going to assume your just trying to be funny and not stupid.

So the new stores will be full of stalls? A mini mall inside a mall. Clever.

Ok, here's my guess based on Eddie being a scumbag.

The "new" small format stores are just going to be the current stores with a lot of the square footage leased/subleased to other businesses. Think the way Seritage splits the old stores into smaller parcels and leases them out for more money. The smaller stores will exist as until he can finally lease/sell the the space. It's just him giving himself more time to liquidate.

The "new" stores are just a stall.

Our Sears store was one of the original small format stores exactly as how Eddie wants to go forward. Our store was exactly what he says he wants in the future for Sears and Kmart to survive. Exactly the same. Guess what? Our Sears store and every other small format store he opened during that time has closed. It didn't work then and I have serious doubts it will work now. Maybe this second time around they will learn from their mistakes. My fingers are crossed.

Yes I hope the Kenmore manufacturing plant doesn’t shut down. I might have to buy a Whirlpool or Frigidaire or some other inferior brand. Heaven forbid.
