Roseville is a big liability being in California. Gulf coast and eastern seaboard are more productive and less of a liability. I predict UP to cut all western region to the bone. Even trucking companies don’t want to go to California. The same is true for railroads.

TCU carman union is a big joke. They cant do anything. Such a waste of $91 a month. Oh its good for the manager or foremans in case they lose their job. They can bump right into a carman spot as long as they pay their dues.

I work there too, I wouldnt be surprised. They should slim down on managers. All you need is one per department according to Vena.

Would the lack in car inspections be the cause of FRA inspections in North Platte increasing? Bad orders coming out the wazoo.

They don’t want the cars inspected. There doing the same thing in Chicago. Telling inspectors they are not allowed to bad order some defects inbound inspections are optional per the fra. You need the outbound carman to do there job

“Call your union” that’s a joke. There’s some small points that have train crews lacing the trains. The union knows about it and does nothing. Good luck

That's what it looked like at Hinkle. We were consistently at 90 BO's. They punished the guys who actually did their jobs and praised the lazy guys who "moved freight". Now our BO's are in the teens or less and they cut 36 Carmen with probably more to come.

If you’re just driving all your inspections and not finding bo’s you’re just shooting yourselves in the foot. They can’t force you to drive them. If they are and you miss something guess who the FRA is going to blame. You will be in more trouble for that. Sounds like a hostile work environment. Call your union and report it to FRA. Protect your job. Don’t give them a reason to lay you off.

What about the 9950’s? I thought people would be safe from cuts if we cooked the books and made it look like we were productive!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work there. The b/o counts are way down. Inspecting while driving in a truck..... I can't find anything. They don't want both inspectors to walk. Rushing us to get trains out. Don't believe me, ask anyone that does inbound inspections here.

Does not matter how major your terminal is.
