Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Don’t compromise your safety to keep your job.

“No employee shall be required to perform any unsafe act...” and “...No employee shall be disciplined, discriminated against, or harassed as a result of their decision to empower themselves regarding safety issues that directly compromise personal safety.”

We are told things by upper management to appease us, what they tell there field management is completely opposite. And if you think you can ever speak under anonymity you are wrong

Obviously the upper management don't know or are claiming not knowing what there field management is pushing people to do to make this work. And the part about no retaliation is a joke at least where I work, do everything the way you are supposed to and you are a ftx magnet, and Everytime it is brought up to upper management it gets worse. Pure harrasment..

Hell no don’t do anything unsafe to keep your job. That’s part of the problem we have now. Omaha comes up with these overkill rules and makes unreasonable production demands. Half the workforce ignores the rules and meets production or comes close to meeting production most of the time. The other half follows the rules and gets asked by management what is taking so long. All you people that think you’re really impressing those managers by throwing caution to the wind just wait till you get your finger caught in a knuckle or something stupid. The first thing the manager will ask you is why weren’t you following the rules? And you can’t even really blame your local manager cause they’re just a number to the higher ups just like you are. Basically work safe. And better yet find a new job if you’re young.
