I personally worked with both and saw nothing nefarious. They were exceptionally talented. It left the entire area baffled. One senior director and one brand new director. Anyway, R&O carried the rest of Honeywell financially last year. To have them kicked to the curb after their performance proves the comment herein - transition from GROE to SHRINK.

I heard the two director saw the Eiffel Tower with the hot young millennial engineer chick.

VP was mad because he didn’t get invited.

I say good riddance to both of them, didn't know them but there are too many do-nothing "directors" and others with that title that have no direct reports

The truth will come out on these two, it always does

How do I know, you ask. Well, here's how -- I watched several dozen excellent managers and senior engineers pull the pin, starting about 3.5 years ago. Those in Aero know who caused this to happen, but it's happened all over the corporation.

Then it became my turn. I was a casting specialist working with foundries for the past 35 years or so. I carved out a position in what used to be called the Material & Process Engineering group (as well as Operations casting support), and had a pretty decent niche for fifteen years or so. I had an excellent relationship with quite a few suppliers (foundries), and we were able to get things done. Remember when we tried to work with suppliers?

Up until last July. Sabu Ponchali (or whatever his name was) announced that he was the kingpin of Project 248, and I knew I was done when I heard his presentation (I was working with a foundry in Oregon). That said, I needed to get my affairs in order (as they say), so I nodded and smiled until late July when I pointed out to one and all that the objectives were not achievable for castings in 18 months, let alone 6, besides which no one asked me if I wanted to be part of this steaming mess.

I was walked out a few days later -- 38 years continuous, 50 years since I first signed on with AiRsearch.

That, is how I know. I sold my life to AiResearch and the subsequent names, and here we all are.

Thanks for asking.

They probably got fired because someone ran right to HR for maybe a nickname said. That is whats going on in our division now. Instead of being a adult and say I don't like that nickname its off to HR and its the 20 year old to 30 year old doing this. Also it a day guy telling them to run to HR too unreal. For years on end nicknames were given out not anymore. No more fun at this place we are strictly robots cant say a word.

Why don't you contact them directly if you are not interested in rumors or gossip?

If you aren't willing to ...no one owes you the answer

Don’t be offended if I state I really couldn’t care 2 shts about opinions relating to this subject. The OP is asking for info about 2 specific Directors getting fired. I know this is extremely hard for LO.com contributors, but I’m not interested in gossip, or rumours, not wanting opinions or other people’s hard luck stories about how Honeywell has fisted them for decades ))))BIG YAWN(((( If you don’t know facts for these specific firings, go find another c*ting thread to have your bleeding hearts pampered

-1usr: OK, your post question "Ask me how I know"? How do you know?

This happened time and time again starting three or four years ago, at least in Aero. I saw senior managers leave within 24-48 hours. Nobody said much at the time, but the impression I came away with was that if the manager/director in question didn't toe the line from the person above them (meet impossible goals, that sort of thing) or, worse yet, told them that it was impossible, they were gone.

Ask me how I know.

-1acr: Wow, and thanks. Something must have happened as -1drm posted below. I know both of them when I used to work there and they were great people to work with.

I would also be curious about who was let go. Maybe first name or initials? I used to work in GROE (Global R&O Engineering) and left four years ago for a new job outside of HON.

There is nothing wrong with this, normal process for any big company to do restructuring.

However, when the top management does not provide you with the reason (even fake one) it tells me that the message is: you boys and girls down below are not mature enough, "You cannot handle the truth"

Arrogance. Total disconnect with the people down in trenches.

How long they can keep "The Truth" secret, until this secret will be all over the media?

Few days? Than what?

I would rather get bitter truth from my manager rather than from gossips and rumors.

I'm not buying that. Something had to occur for such a sudden removal. Both were good leaders that had done well for the organization.

Several directors have been let go in the past several months. More to follow. No new products and competitors on our tails means bye bye employees.
