Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

52 trains holding for power

PSR is not working. Being told to find a way to make it work. Stream line the process say the shop directors. How do they expect 10 to do the work of 30?? They need to do the job and show us how good they can make it work because they can't and have no clue in h*** what to do. We are led by college managers who took our FG jobs and have no clue what to do either. We are theatened with our jobs daily. Why don't all labor unions unite and start the process of a strike??

PSR halting movement all over service units from middle America to northwest!! But it’s working lol. Anyone else seeing this?? Power shortage/crew shortage two few to do the work. Overtime request and managers working 14 hr days, burn out comming. People will only pick up slack of bad plan for so long then when they cannot any longer it will fall apart. Seeing this already.

You dumb--ses. The unions aren't able to do anything. The unions job is to protect and enforce the agreement and contract. As long as the company isn't in violation of it, the union has no leg to stand on. PSR does work. Whenever you make dramatic changes, everything falls flat. Part of the aspect of PSR is that it needs a strong foundation to be built on. We as a union CAN NOT strike. Right now we have to protect what we have. I educated myself with PSR. It's working as it should. Once they get a good foundation things will be become better. Part of the crafts problem is change. We as a craft DO NOT LIKE CHANGE. We rather b--ch about doing our jobs then actually do them. The company pays us 8 hours with a 20 minute lunch to work. Do your f---ing jobs. If I finish up on a unit and they move me to another, why should i b--ch. We are here to work. Not sit on our ashes. If they want me to work till quitting time, I work. They pay us and are within the agreement. We have been soo spoiled by not doing our full potential that when forced we cry about it. Just protect your work.

“Remember threats are comming from the top from Vena/Lance on down the line to crews!! managers are being threatened daily from there directors and superintendents to put pressure on employees below them and so forth....”

These “leaders” are complicit in the ongoing stupidity. I’m sure they are just trying to feed their family though. Let them fall, you have no requirement to support poor decisions. If they are lucky after it all falls apart these “leaders” can write some razzle-dazzle junk theory about locomotives being Formula 1 cars.

precision railroading Is not designed to work for railroad employees. The entire design is created to work for stock holders. They basically hold the board of directors hostage by saying you will implement precision railroading or we will just vote for someone else in your place. The stick holders will s--- us dry then move on. That’s the way it works.

This will not work in the end, the people running the company need to replaced.

I have been working for UP for a few years. From what I see the unions are absolutely useless. I suspect they have been taken over by UP corporate. I have no proof but it makes business sense. Anyway, I don’t know what it would actually take for these unions to actually do anything. Can anyone tell me the last time UP unions actually made any kind of stand, I’m curious?

They threaten you once they should be fired immediately. Hopefully the FRA sees what is happening. UP is creating an in safe company to its employees and the public.

Start posting all names of managers and directors that threaten jobs of employees. They are asking the impossible to be done with limited resources they have left employees to work with....call ethics line and make complaint each and every time you are threatened.
