Grade 6 salary SJ?

What is the expected salary range for grade 6 in SJ? How does a grade 6 eventually grow into a higher grade role?

@cisconerd are you speaking here from experience? :)

Yes! My co-workers make me look like an intellectual. That's not that bad, actually.

I was naive after my masters and really was excited to join Cisco. It was the sh--tiest decision of my life for career. I was in a bad team which I left in a year and moved to some good team. Spent many years in Cisco. I was a choice grad. I was stupid and gullible to join a company like Cisco. Year after year I saw new kids coming with zeal into their eyes into a place that does not give a sh-- about people and quality of work is terrible, outdated tech, no growth or very little growth. If you are in Silicon valley, u have infinite choices if you are bright. Cisco should be the last place for any fresher. Still your choice, I would run away as far as possible from Cisco. I left Cisco after many years, which was another mistake I did(should have left asap). If however, you don't care to grow your skills, want an easy job, want to BS to rise up, this is the best place to be. If annual massive layoffs and constant silent small layoffs are your interest, go for it. If you are in a visa, good luck getting your green card started or not audited. Basically you will just get the worse career start.

OP, reading the replies here, do you really want to join Cisco and have such folks as co-workers?

are you a F1 looking for H1 sponsor?

beware of the risks because at any time govt can deny cisco GC applics based on continuous stealth layoffs being outed.

even if you are just a native candidate, please do look for something better. all you will end up in cisco is maintaining a 10 year old box, with 20 year old code.

Grade 6 makes enough to rent a couch in a dumpy apartment with 4 roommates.

Cisco is a dead-end job. Obtain marketable skills and receive a pay bump from another company.
