No media, no fleet, no security... sell all that off to companies that have the talent. We’ve wasted enough time and energy. it’s the strength of our network that sets us apart. We Need to stop pretending that we’re like Google, Amazon, Facebook, or Apple cause we aren’t. Keep it simple stupid!
5G revenue is years away. Agree with OP. We water down our effectiveness by trying to be "all things, to all people" - and not doing any of it well. Or, if we buy certain niche companies, they need to live as completely separate subsidiaries, and operate on their own. The kiss of death is when we "integrate" them into the mother-ship (with managers/people that know nothing about the new business).
