Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

When do we stand

Every one blames the union that they didn't fix all my problems, but really we are to blame. The powerfull unions of the past that we envy, the only things that's changed is the members. We let people be bullied by FTX and critical rules. We know the federal defects that run out of our shops and we don't call the FRA, fear of retaliation. We allow people to be furloughed. Everyone acts like they make the decision. Were more powerful than you know, If we could ever stand together we could be the unions of the past. PSR railroading they will run every federal defect. Cheaper to payoff the dead than prevent the accident from happening. IF you report it FRA has to deal with it. If we could love each other instead of judging and blaming each other for there decision we could be strong again.

The unions are weak and are part of the reason UP has been emboldened to act the way they are now.

F--- the unions. I want more vacation and better pay. Our vacation policy is old. A person with 5 years should get 3 weeks. Look at other companies they offer 3 weeks at 5 and 4 weeks at 10

Our contract might have been great in the 1960-1990 days but times have changed

Yeah it I don’t like it go somewhere else. Puss. ies need to stand up and call the union tell them we want better benefits

Yes. Our Unions are a complete Joke. And the problem starts right at the Top in those senior positions of the Unions.

I kinda find any comments about the unions funny. I personally find the unions a complete joke and more of a formality and a tradition at this point. They have been bought off by Union Pacific corporate. Don’t put any faith in them. Seriously.

A large percentage of employees hate each other, they’ll never work together as a team so long as they’re busy stabbing each other in the back. Just look at how people talk to each other on this site, they laugh at each others problems and concerns. These are the same people who don’t have the self respect to learn basic grammar, let alone how to be a decent human being. I don’t know how this can be fixed.

Strikes are not illegal. The RLB only prohibits strikes until all other options are exhausted.

But keep listening to the man. He'll deliver your justice when it goes against his interests.

Union going on strike have no value. It is illegal and benefits no one. In last month I've have seen locomotives leave with out conductor emergency not working., ccs bars way past federal and damaged bars, dynamic brakes that only have to work on leader, because crew would never know. This is the defects I have seen in a month and not reported so I am to blame for there lack of accountabiility. FRA may of sold out but they have to deal with it if it reported.
