Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

When does this stop?

I know all about the 2020 plan and the state of practically constant restructure, but I was wondering is there any chance that the main cut are behind us, cause if they’re no we are in for a lot of trouble. We are close to being inoperable as it is, at least in my department. Can’t imagine it’s physically possible to cut a lot more, as we’re close to the bone as it is.

Read about hunters time on the Canadian railroads. They made cuts so deep that non-agreement employees were trained to be conductors and put on call. Seriously google it. People from hr and other jobs. It’s kindof funny and sad at the same time cause one of them talks about how depressed they were to get a phone call at 4 am when it was raining to get a train. Welll...welcome to the railroad. But at the same time that’s crazy they actually did that. So, that’s where it’s going if they really want 55.

It stops when you leave this miserable human meat grinder called Union Pacific and it’s miserable money grubbing and blood thirsty executives.

Should be somewhere around 12,000 employees being cut, we are not even 1/4 of the way there.

It will stop when two of the big railroads merge. Either UP buys CSX, or UP merges with either CP or CN.
