Based on what’s been said in the town halls I get the sense that Monique was not the only higher up who is not on the same page as Charlie.

I thought the same thing. Some seemed as depressed as the rest of us, yet it was their job to sound “normal” and pretend that all is well. But some others said some bizzarre things too, like the layoffs weren’t about saving money, but about not being mediocre anymore. We might be depressed, but I think some of them might be going crazy.
