March VSP

Does anyone else feel like our management team hasn't used this extra time wisely for those of us transitioning out the door in March? There is no one hired to take over my work as of yet and they keep giving me a ton of stuff every day. What will 3/25 look like?!

With only two weeks remaining, the management still has no backfill to transition some major functions of our application. It’s no brainer that it will have outages without support. Is the Infosys’ responsibility to keep the system running? I am just curious.

Guess I have a good one. He has already filled my position with an internal candidate and had me move all of my direct reports over to her this past Monday. Our customers have been informed of the new chain of command and as a result I pretty much have nothing to do here between now and 3/22 and have been "Away" on Jabber more often than not this week. That will likely be the case over the next two weeks too. It's a peaceful and in my opinion after almost 30 years of dedication to this company, a well deserved quiet and calm walk off into the sunset. Thanks boss!

That is the sad truth of the day. The real truth is these managers, directors have no idea how to plan and deal with negative times. They are like deer caught by the oncoming headlights. They are blinded, ill prepared with no planning skills, for that matter they don't even know what work is being done. That is the true irony of the situation, These guys are the ones they need to flush down the drain, but it doesn't matter, nature will take its course and take care of them, but after they have damaged the company beyond repair. Good luck to those that remain.

Seems like business as usual to me. When has management ever used time well? This VSP'er is not going to miss flying all over the place for "meetings" that are not productive. Back to back conference calls of nonsense. Just two more weeks to go and I can leave this hot mess in the rear view mirror forever.

Not worried in the least bit about it. My manager has tried to refrain from giving me much work at all knowing that I'm leaving. For my co-workers staying, I do hope plans have been made... but from what I'm seeing.. they have just passed the extra work on to others.. doubling their work.
