Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Severance?

Is it the usual or have there been some changes? I'd really appreciate an answer, just to be ready in case this thing is still not over and my name comes up.

Arrangement of deck chairs upon the Titanic.
After spending ZZ+ years with company, it is very saddening as to what is happening with Peter Z (@peterzaffino) and Shane F (@shanefitzsimmins) selling off and bowing down to the overarching power of Accenture.
Many of those handle calls/requests are being eliminated. We were told this is best as a cost savings.
People of Edward Jones, Chase, Leigh Valley, and ARCNY, you are forewarned. Your customers and employees will be marginalized by DEI and ESG rules decisions. PPE may have influenced too.
Hey L Fato ( I overlook JD/esp.), love this? What a weakling. Sell-off. Come on, now! OMG! She’s an attorney. Will the ambiguity shield or will she pursue litigation for a kick-back?
If you have an contact with SunAmerica, Western National, or VALIC, please run! NOW! Service will dissolve to non-existence.
We were told by @toddmcgraph and @karabolling, this decision was made in April 2022 and they were only executioners of said decision. I do not doubt this. @rob schinerman, where are you? The said head of retirement services?
Hey, let’s build a brand with the PGA? Sure, and undercut their service.
The relationship built WILL crumble. I go back to my intro: TITANIC.
So, in the end, for all of the elitists aforementioned, I hope your nights are torrential with the decisions made. May you finally find a soul to lead you unto tepid comfort. DO NOT JOIN ANY PART OF AIG!

What happens to carry over days from the prior year? Does AIG pay that out for your unused PTO as well?

Thanks, I agree with @XW9IgLL-1bls about the severance agreement.

Not sure at what age you need to sign the ADW, I wasn't asked to sign it so am just getting the 2 weeks per year

Has anyone tried to negotiate the severance package, if yes, any luck? For some state residents, take the lump sum if you don't need the health benefits so unemployment can kick in asap. The $$ can be a lifesaver. Good luck all!

A US laid off case - Basically, they pay you out for the remainder of the week and then give you two weeks short notice pay and paid for un-used PTO. After that you can opt to take the 2 week/yr payout (52 wk max) as a lump sum or have it paid bi-weekly as regular pay. If you elect the biweekly payout then your medical benefits continue. You don't get any 401K contributions only medical benefits. No medical benefits (other than COBRA) for lump sump. If you are over a certain age then you sign a waiver that says you won't sue for age discrimination to get severance (but you'll get the 2 week short notice and PTO pay regardless). Salary is taxable (lump sum get hits at payout) and unemployment benefits kick in vary by state (as I understand it). Best of luck.

Two weeks a year for each year of service and capped at 52 weeks. Did not need to sign the ADW.

Different countries have different local severance packages.

Example 1 month for each year of service capped at 10 years

Or is it 2 weeks per year base plus 4 extra to sign the ad waiver?

4 weeks per year of service if you sign the AD waiver? Can someone confirm this? That is a bunch of severance.

As far as I know, it's still 2 weeks for every year of service and 4 weeks if you sign the Age Discrimination Waiver.
