Sam’s club files patent for the new generation Scan & Go

Here’s the article that summarizes what exact changes will the new generation of Scan & Go bring. I know the last thing the associates want to hear is more automation, but I thought I could get some opinions on how this could impact us on an everyday level .

It’s not the fact anyone hates technology, its the fact that this BIG A-- COMPANY with all this money wants you to put this BYOD on your PERSONAL phone. Let me repeat PERSONAL phone and then give you b---s--- about not seeing other personal information on your device. Yeah you go ahead and do it.

I have a friend that works for ATT, they do have access to your personal information; ie: Text messages, etc. Fact.

There is a reason why most of the CMs and up have a personal phone and a work phone. They have access to text and everything. I do not own Alexa or any of those type of devises, and I have no desire to. Even if Sam's paid me for their app on my phone, I would say no. This is my property and my privacy. I will allow access to what I want. I do not want to give them the access they require.

Not sure why people hate technology or afraid of automation. Most people have Alexa or Google home or some sort of technology that makes life easier for them. So why not incorporate technology at work. Since adding selfchekcout and the 2 man registers, weve increased cashiers. Maybe instead of hating and fighting technology, maybe we should embrace it. No, not HO troll. A long time associate just trying to make due with what I got. Please hate away on my post
