Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Why quit, you ask?

How about getting ahead of the wave? The way Xerox has been laying off, there will be so many people looking for a job in similar fields that competition for open positions will be fierce.

Why wait for a small severance and risk not having a job for much longer or having to settle for something significantly under your pay grade when you can get ahead of it?

The problem with sticking around to the end that is that they are likely to reduce the severance even more. I'm not sticking around just to have them change the severance to 2 weeks or something grossly inadequate. I'm looking for something else now and they can stick their severance. I can't afford to be left out in the cold after a limited severance runs out.

Won't they love us to give up and go, so they don't have to pay not even a dime! Wrong! Staying to the end until I get my walking papers.

My attorney advice me to stick around until the end.
