Has anyone on this page received a relo package before? How is the relo amount determined? Share some figures and relo distances if you don’t mind.

Moved from texas to new england a few years back. They paid for the move (movers etc.) And gave me $13k lump sum for other expenses.

3 times. $11,500 for the first from the Northeast to the Southeast. Plus movers. Traditional “lump and load” as they call it. Second one was from CARTN back to a large city in the Northeast. I got $15k plus movers and because it was a “high housing” city, they paid my rent for 3 months I believe it was (which amounted to $7,500) while I sold my house. Then once more from that city to another destination in the Northeast and it was like $10,000 or so plus movers and they paid the closing costs on the house I was buying. Leave within a year voluntarily and pay it all back. Leave after 1 but before 2, pay half back. Unless you can negotiate it. If laid off by company bc position eliminated and you don’t pay them back.

It’s determined by job band, distance, and cost of living in new destination, as I’ve been told.

Their relo packages vary by the job and the distances. You need to think long an hard before you relocate with Verizon before the Verizon 2.0 changes. I have known more than five people relocated by the company and out of a job in the new location in less than six months. One guy was told he didnt have a job the day he was closing on his home. Think about that before you move. I would seriously not move with these folks in the state of affairs the company finds itself. Who wants to be uprooted from your support system only to be left high and dry. Unless they are moving you back to where you want to go and you have a support system. that is the only way i would consider a move.
