Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

A SOURCE WITHIN THE EXECUTIVES ARE DISCUSSING A POSSIBLE EARLY DEPARTURE FOR JIM VENA.

Apparently Lance's boy isn't working out and living up to PSR. Drop in stock, late trains high dwell and bad publicity is taking its toll on the board. There was brief discussions about lance's roll as well. Public pressure and employees voices outside hence news paper interviews, has the board considering a early departure for Jim Vena. Lance fritz and his explanation for buy backs seems to be very confusing to share holders. Voice your thoughts on Jim Vena and Lance Fritz. As a employee of 21 plus yrs. I am seeking employment elsewhere. Good luck to you all.

For the people that think Vena isn't going anywhere, then you need to realize that the board of directors has rights too. The board will remove ANYONE they feel isn't doing what's for the good of a company. The rumor of Vena leaving early may or may not be true, but don't assume he can't be removed. With all the constant media attention, negative reviews, poor service, mounting shipper complaints, increasing fees, and lack of positive leadership, then anything is possible. Fritz and Vena have got some bad days coming for them

Never heard a bad comment about Jim Young from Union Pacific employees. Funny thing is I never heard a positive comment about Lance Fritz. Why is he in charge of blueprint Nebraska when he continues to cut young talent that is needed? Hypocrisy. No respect for his employees. Good luck with political ambitions. Delusional!

Keep in mind that UP is TRANSITIONING into PSR and the shareholders expect this kind of performance (or lack) for awhile. They’re not concerned because they know this is a long term commitment.

Lance may quit to either run for office or walk into the sunset with his millions, but he won’t leave because of poor performance. It will be something that’s been in place for awhile.

If Vena is a possible successor to Lance, that explains even more why Tennison’s leaving. COO is bad enough, but would you want to work on 19 with that mafia boss breathing down your neck?

Vena is not going anywhere. You can take it to the bank that the primary reason the Board let Vena Join the team now was succession planning. They need someone to take the CEO slot once Lance leaves/gets canned. We didn’t have someone appropriate to fill that void.

Lance can’t buy back his dignity. I hope he rots from within, same with the rest of the team that allowed this disaster.

Sometimes when you hire a hatchetman, you get a hack.

Dont think for a minute blackrock didnt negotiate his placement

Lance will ensure jim sticks around so he can leave without stink on his shoes.

Yeah I’ve been in the transportation department for many years, this is just chaos. Train crews are running out of time constantly because of lack of power, train size, and good ol trip optimizer. Train across my territory will travel hundreds of miles at 30 mph or below with available power in consist when the train is good for a 50 to 70mph. What a joke! I’ve never seen it this bad I’m surprised we even still have customers.

It’s not this Vena guy. He’s just the instrument being used to carry out Hunter’s plan. Put anyone in his place and it’ll be same s— different day. They are getting what they want and asked for.
