Not so fast... BNY only hit pause

The remote working email said they “hit pause” while they “reconsider our approach”.

That could mean the response to their policy was just too severe. Maybe they just need to slow it down a bit, hence the email.

Time will tell...

: @XXyywFE-2uzc The answer is simple. He's turning the responsibilities of approving wfh to the local managers policy be damned. The managers will now have to prove their worth by convincing those wfh to come in the office. those who do will triumph those who don't are next on the chopping block. Think of Survivor.

Our management came to us asking if we would take less days at home then what we had in mid November. Guess they didn’t read his email. After he sent his email I think he sent a different communication to his senior management saying something entirely different. Another breach of contract? Another so called miscommunication?

BNY Mellon is a SH——-t show every day. Charlie is hated by everyone in the company. How is this good for business? Morale is non existent where I am. People just going thru the motions and trying to get out ASAP. Terrible place to work. The board doesn’t care. upper mgt doesn’t care. Employees don’t care. Terrible way to run a business. I only stay cause I’m old. waiting for my package. Hopefully it will be soon. The question is, how long can BNY survive like this? Good luck to all!

Did somebody give Charlie an IQ test and discover what a dumb idea it was to take away WFH? Or better yet - let's see how many people will leave on their own when we threaten to take WFH away so we won't have to give them a package. Maybe the layoffs were a mistake, too! Who hires a bozo like Charlie anyway? Time to go Charlie - go ruin thousands of more lives at another company.

: @XXyywFE-fwm no one likes to be made the fool and people with power avenge commensurately. I would not so easy deride your CEO. He was egotistical enough to drag the fight against wfh almost all the way. If you think he's gonna stand down you are very mistaken chap. Wonder whethr BNY will stay in UK if Brexit goes hard. By his long history you ain't seen nuttin yet. Cheers

Sorry it's all about the stock price. If the price goes south he will act. WFH = out of sight out of mind=easier to make cuts since there will be less bad feelings. He's just getting started
