This will be long term pretty detrimental for the railroads that implement PSR, industry’s find other alternatives for freight and some won’t return, the ones that do the railroads will have to cut costs and or give extensive incentives to get the business back. Great time for investments in the trucking industry!

And to make things worse, there are many pizza places and only a few railroads. That’s how they get away with screwing the customer - by being quasi monopolies. If there were many other appealing freight options, the customers would’ve fled in droves.

Well I may be wrong I’m pretty sure that the CP and CN precision plan has mostly fizzled out. This is for short term gains and not sustainable. If I ordered a pizza from Pizza place A and they would only deliver it after they made my pizza at that location and picked up 4 other pizzas at each of their other locations with one driver to save $ on wages and fuel taking 2 hrs to deliver my cold pizza. I would probably go to pizza place B which is just as tasty as A and delivers my pizza from only one location in less than a half of an hour without making multple stops delivering a nice tasty warm pizza. I wonder how long pizza place A could stay in business? I’m guessing probably not long unless most customers were willing to pickup their own pizza from pizza A.
