Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

They want us to quit

They are trying to frustrate employees so they quit and this cheap bank does not have to pay any package

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Honestly, in addition to always worsening working conditions, now we can add worrying day and night about being laid off to the growing list of things to stress about here. And it honestly feels like they are doing this on purpose - as the other poster said.

Yes the bank is going to about 30-35k workers. He's heading that way any which way he can. Frustrating workers, layoffs and more technology. If you think otherwise you haven't been paying attention. Seatbelts on.

There is no revenue growth at the company and so the only way to grow EPS is to cut costs. The side effect of cutting benefits is that it can cause people to quit which also helps eps. Win-win.

Also note the increasing investment into technology that will evidentually require fewer people.

Little Charlie has been very open that staff turnover has been much lower than needed.

And maybe those who can, will. So BNY will be left with those of us that cannot find other jobs.

BNY: uh, is that what you really want?
