Chevron PGPA is very active on this site. What else can we say about how great Chevron is compared to Exxon? You see how they shut down post that are revealing about the true Chevron.

I was assigned to Mobil’s office in Aberdeen Scotland for just over a year prior to their merger with Exxon. The most memorable thing was the British staff hated the US staff, the US staff hated the British staff and all staff hated contractors. Even between departments there was animosity. Horrible working environment. Joining Chevron was a refreshing change.

That was many years back and I have no idea what ExxonMobil are like to work for nowadays, they may pay more money but give me Chevron anyday.

-hen: It might be named ExxonMobil, but Mobil’s coorparate culture did not survive the merger....it is all Exxon now.

Exxon gives no bonus, but their base pay itself is lot higher. They offered me 10% more the chevron's salary + bonus. But i still chose chevron because of the work life balance.

BP offered me almost same as chevron.

A bit higher initial offer for new grads, perhaps. Exxon is a real cut throat place however, so if you do not thrive on knife fights with a lot of in your face type A personalities think twice. It is less work ethic than high school football like gamesmanship; anything for a few extra yards. To each his own. I am happier now that I switched to Chevron (several years ago), for basically the same salary.

Plus Exxon expect a work ethic that is an anathema to most chevroids.

I had all B’s in college. Any chance for me getting hired on at ExxonMobil? BTW, the only straight letter in the alphabet is the “I”, not “A”.

If you mean ExxonMobil, their salaries range from 10-20% higher than Chevron. But you need straight As in college to be interviewed.
