Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Appliance repair services

What is happening in the business units of sears? Are they ducking all these layoffs or are they cutting all the extra non needed or higher paid management that works from home and does nothing like all the service managers in 8254? Why have 7 managers for 60 guys. Seems like there's getting ready to be a lot of butt hurt people looking for 6 figure plus jobs real soon. Guess they should've seen us techs as human beings, and not just a commission cut for their own pocket as they sit at home expect more n more n more from us, and eat all day cause the sears their offices used to be in closed. We kept your jobs going so the radar could be off you for a while but now that the message of sears is clear, and sales are smouldering across the district, well so is your job. Heres a clue dropper if you actually ever read this BS site... We can't win them all!

The techs really are not ducking layoffs.many have gone out the door on their own simply because they could not take the insanity anymore. The ones that would not quite were just screwed with creativity. They would find out what you don't like to do or poor at.Then guess what your doing it.your numbers go down. Then it's easy to get you out the door.

I am telling you the whole situation with Sears is having to much upper management and not enough people to handle the work. They will cut the people that actually take out the product, give customer service its just a shame. However management doesnt get cut just recently they have cut. The ones that make the big bucks are the ones that do the least and make the most and the people that get cut make the least and are the ones the that keep the company running.

Amen. I swear home services must employ as many project managers as they do techs now. Every time we're called in for a safety meeting we're show yet another spreadsheet of doom that some new national project manager put together in their underwear the previous day. Last month our tech manager showed us the email thread from Hoffman and it was literally each layer of redundant management saying "FYI" before sending it to the next level down. She said that's 90% of the communication they get from upper management. Brilliant.

Oh well... I've got 3 weeks left and I'm out so good luck to the rest of y'all.
