Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

So, when is the next big wave?

We seem to be getting used to this state where layoffs are an everyday occurrence, even more we seem happy that they are performed in that way and not in another massive wave. My take is that there will be another massive wave of layoffs at the middle of the year. In that way they are left with enough time to align the business with a “thinner” company structure and a lesser headcount before 2020 hits. Am I just being paranoid or is there really sense to this?

Ok people. This is a RUMORS webpage and nothing more. Unless someone from Senior Management is coming on here to post the dates of the next activities (which isn’t happening) then you know everything posted here is unsubstantiated rumor. And yet here you are. So either don’t come here or accept the fact that this is an anonymous page where people can make up whatever they want.

Does it matter? They will layoff everyone but thier own kin or sorority sisters. If youre not one of those, you should expect the tap on the shoulder

A complete guess BUT if you use trend then I'd say the next round of cuts will be a few weeks after first quarter earnings are announced. That's how they did it the first time. Again i'm guessing

Unfortunately it makes perfect sense to me. But I’m pretty sure my shop is going to be phased out altogether.
