I’m sure nobody can answer this question precisely, but does anyone have any idea how this transformations are handled in terms of severance? I’m sure that there will be cuts shortly so this of big interest to me.

Why would the transition to a tech-POWERHOUSE affect severance? In the meantime, go get Solaris 10 certified so you can highlight your dev experience, you gurus.
Don’t plan on a severance of more than 2 weeks. The large severance period is over.
Dust off your resume and get out now.
