Here are a few reasons why I remain:
1.). With retail on your resume, it’s hard to get out. I refuse to keep jumping from one retail sinking ship to the next. The grass is the same regardless of what side you are on.
2.). Benefits. While the health benefits here s---, the vacation/holiday/sick time is hard to find when starting somewhere new.
3.). Pay. I’m actively searching for jobs outside of retail, but everywhere seems to want to hit me with a 5$ an hour pay cut.
4.). Lowes is very easy place to simply come to work and exist. It’s not a matter of being lazy or not working hard, but I know what to expect when I walk through the doors each day.
Do I enjoy working at Lowe’s? Absolutely not. The recent changes/cuts/ etc make things far worse than in the past for both customers and employees. I look for new jobs everyday, but as I said above, I’m not trying to stay in retail any longer so it’s difficult to say the least.
Best of luck to everyone who left or is trying to leave. Many years ago when I started I had faith in this company. That has run out!
