Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Could they care any less

The ruthlessness of corporate America is very clear to me, but when publicly elected political official shows that much disinterest in the matter of layoffs at GM that is just a new level of hubris. The newly elected Michigan governor promised to do what she can about this and make sure that Michigan residents don't have to look for jobs elsewhere, but when she met With the company CEO recently, the issue, as they say, “didn’t come up”. That clearly shows the level of commitment the governor is going to have to resolve this matter.

Really?! Politics?! Let's not be mistaken or get caught up in our pitty patries with unwarranted finger pointing as we all know Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona voted to "Make America Great Again"! Not so great is it?

Gretchen had that deer in the headlights look, she will figure out that she can't do anything to change Mother Motors.

What are politicians going to actually do?

You realize that GM and other corporations have recently within the last few years, made training for accepting gifts, donations, bribes and the such, a huge violation of doing business. Yet, we have these very same companies, lobbying politicians to get their agendas pushed.

Lobbying is nothing more than bribes and payoffs. Nothing more, nothing less. Why would the politicians bite the hands that help feed them? They only have to make it look like they care. To put on a face for the people that have elected them. There has been a lot of pity and outrage for these layoffs, but in the end you will find that nothing will be done.

Have you ever considered that perhaps reality is more scripted than not? Think WWE wrestling.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way."

~Franklin D. Roosevelt
