Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

All we know for certain...

Guys despite all the rumors and speculations heres all we really know for certain, change within the company is going to happen, and we wont all know for certain until about the next two weeks... retail is a constantly evolving beast centered soully around the best experiance possible for the customer, and driving sales of course. Accepting and welcoming change is something a lot of people in the business seem to struggle with, and i understand that especially with long term associates, its just important to keep doing your job to the besr of your ability and show people youre dedicated no matter what... your management team will see and appreciate that, but they will also see if you give up too... so dont! With that being said guys it really doesnt sound like this “night crew change” eliminates any jobs, yes maybe management gets restructured and we all stress about that for maybe a week, hopefully in a lot of clubs that means change for the better and weaker management out, stronger management in. But we wont know anything for facts until the beginning of the fiscal year... just keep doing what you all do best and continue to drive sales, and always be happy to help.

give me a break you think I haven't been affected by change or my family I've had to restart three different times luckily I still have a job for how long who knows. What the hell can you do nothing! Sure you want to get p-ss-d off go for it! what good is that going to do you not one bit of difference. It only makes you more bitter why stay with this company if he isn't happy. You think it's gonna get better not with that attitude.

This is bull! My husband had been with the company for 15 years and has changed positions with every upper level restructure. 1 bad visit and 1 young a--hole who is intimidated by his loyalty and devotion to his job and associates and he is given 30 days to find a new position!

We have uprooted our children several times chasing the restructure and better positions only to be slapped in the face with a bunch of newbies that only care about the dollar and not their people.

So don’t tell me do your job and accept the change and you will be fine!

If you aren't going to put 100 percent in what you do why be there. For a pay check? Then earn it I'm a long term associate who has been herrassed by mgnt. Wrote up on stupid sh-- then it gets over turned and gm responds by it's going to come off then it doesn't get taken off lol that's ok it never once made me not do what I'm supposed to do. Teach who needs to be taught lots of time I feel mgnt reacts to meetings they have and may feel forced to do things they may not want to do and even make then selves seem to be unethical. Do you, don't worry about what may or may not happen we can't control change but we can move forward with it or not then your out the door. People have eyes they see what's going on and prob have ears where you think they can't hear. Go to work and do your best it's a reflection of who you are. God Bless

@ffw yes, I'm not there to have compassion for the company. I'm there because I need a paycheck to pay my bills and support family. Why Would anyone be working just to support the company. Do you think they care about us??? REALLY!!!

Ive had plenty of long term associates teach me a thing or two, generally those are the ones that ive known that have stayed with the company. To me, the management that cuts those associates are in the wrong. Refer to the last section of my post. And again. Maybe those weaker in management and lesdership will get phased out. But in my time, the ones who dont want to adapt to change are the ones comfortable in their positions because its easy for them, they dont want to do anything else because thats “not their job” and they come in to do the bear minimum to pass by and not get a coaching. Those are the ones that you see cut. And its no surprise to anyone. The fact that all of you can take a supportive post and turn it into something of arguing and blaming management who is just as scared as you amazes me. Shows a lot of you arent really part of your sams club family

To th OP, us " long term partners " are the most willing people to accept change. We do not struggle with that. What we struggle with is the lack of respect from HO and Mgmt. Instead of letting us evolve with the changes and help the Company transition with knowledgable people ....... you throw them away like a piece of trash. We have been through the most changes than anyone in the Company. Trained the most people in the Company including Managers. So, don't tell us about change. We are what built this Company and was very proud to work for. You, HO, took that away from us by showing us that we mean nothing to you. Thats ok, because you are now reaping what you sow ....... oh, and as far as Mgmt , " Appreciate " ....... really ! You my friend need to open your eyes. They do not even know the word. They are so worried about there self with there noses in the air, they don't even see us. We, us, " long term partners " are the ones trying to hold the place together, the ones you are replacing with 2 to 3 people doing the job of just one .... So, OP ......... your whole post is all wrong. I think you need a hot dog !

Every associate ive ever known who has a passion for the business and their job was eliminated, have stayed with the company. Every one that didnt have a passion or interest in doing something else or was just not a good associate, needless to say.

So lets say your job does go away, okay. Now youre in a position to either accept a severance package or you have 90 days to find a different position. Whats wrong with a different position? You dont like change? Learning something different? Opening your mind? Sounds like youre just there to collect a paycheck and have no actual passion for the business then. Just saying.
