I don’t want to get into a discussion whether the rumors are true or not, but if it, in fact, turns out that the reduction of ASM’s is true think that that would be an indication that a bigger and more significant reorganization at the company, in which we could all be affected. Have no concrete info and I don’t want to invoke panic, but why start and stop with ASM’s, right?

The changes are annoying especially when folks are pulled off process to do things in other areas and we seem to be chasing our tails. We've recently brought in 3 new ASMs and have lost the external hire already. I don't see reductions even possible at this time. We'll find out after the YBM what all is going down. I'm just grateful we aren't a Sears, JCP, or Shopko type story.
Last I heard no changes to DM or ASM role at this time- that rumor has pretty well been debunked at this time. In regard to the vague change question - companies will constantly change with the times and constantly be looking at ways to increase profit and decrease losses. The good thing is with a company changing with the times to stay profitable and relevant the company will stay in business securing millions of jobs for people down side is some specific jobs may become obsolete all together or get restructured.
The company like all companies are always looking at structure.
If there were a new structure for ASMs coming it could indicate more changes.
