Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

$1,500 Wellness Payment is Automated for 2019

No new information on the layoffs, just a reminder that as long as you are a GM Employee you are eligible for the $1,500 Wellness Reward for getting a Physical done. You no longer need to get a doctor to sign the form.

I submitted a claim through the WageWorks.com website last week and it was Approved the same day with a confirmation email arriving the next day. Hopefully it will be included in my January paycheck.

Don't leave $1,500 on the table for GM to keep. Get a physical immediately and pocket that money into your HSA which is transferable if fired or paid out as taxable income if you are not enrolled in a GM Healthcare Plan.

After talking to people in the office it looks like it depends which Aetna plan you are on. I’m on the cheapest single person one and mine does not allow me to do another physical within 365 days. Y’all will have to look at your specific plan to see if you can get your physical covered.

I got my last physical in October and another one last week. I'm on Aetna and it was covered.

low key, I've never done the physical, I go in for a check up and just ask him to sign the form, its always been a GM form not the insurance forms he's used too, so I don't pay anything. Really I'm cheating myself I guess, I should be doing a physical for my own benefit, but I don't want to fast and go in early and all that noise.

To add more info. According to the wellness incentive faq you can still get a physical and get your incentive once per calendar year. So even if Aetna doesn’t cover it, you could still go somewhere cheap, pay out of pocket, and qualify for the incentive.

For clarification, do you NEED to have a physical to get the Wellness payment still? I was planning on getting one soon anyways, but I wanted to submit the form as soon as possible

Just FYI for people on Aetna now instead of blue cross, we are only covered for an exam once per year not calendar year. So if you got yours in July you have to wait for July again for it to be covered by Aetna.

I verified this by talking to someone over aetnas live chat.

You can go to a walk-in clinic at CVS or Walgreens to get your physical. Will cost you ~$40 out of pocket, and many places have same-day appointments.

My 2019 Incentive took 3 pay periods to process.

Hell if you just want the money go to an urgent care and do a physical. They'll gladly take your money for an annual with a walk in appointment. They probably won't be as thorough as a doc...

BCBS is one physical per calendar year which means if your healthcare plan if through them, you can get one immediately. If your doctor says no, just find another doctor's office and have them send your medical records to your primary.

If you have a medical concern, then bring that up to your Primary Care Physician but a physical is just some poking and prodding followed by blood work that can be sent back to your PCP for review.

You can still get another now because Its a new year. Your Dr may say no, but BCBS says yes. You just have your DR call them.

What if you had your last physical exam less than 6 months ago?
