Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

You should be able to live on what Lowe's pays

I find it amazing that Lowe's has a meeting in Vegas the way that they do. No other retailer I've ever worked for going back to when I was 16 years old has ever put on a dog and pony show like Lowe's does.

This is just another example of the rich (Lowe's corporate) taking from the pour (those of us that work in the stores). Marvin seems to have forgotten that there are no cash registers at the corporate offices.

Finally where is it written that only management and corporate are allowed to make a living wage? If you're an adult, give 100%, you should be able to live on what Lowe's pays. You shouldn't have to work a second job, rely on public assistance, or go hungry because you work for Lowe's (or any other retailer).

I agree with @XeLPLdx-fno completely. What's been going on lately is just really sad.

Yes, it is Lowe's fault you didn't amount to anything in your life. It is Marvin's fault you were ok with just being an associate in retail which by the way Lowe's pays higher than the industry standard. Instead of blaming "the rich" why don't you do something about it and move on. Typical Snowflake blaming everyone else for their problems. It's your own fault your a loser and nobody else.

By the time you buy Lowe's expensive and not great health insurance for your family, you just lost half or more of your paycheck so who can live on that? Some markets obviously pay a lot more than others but everything goes up each year yet Lowe's just gives pennies for hourly wage raises.

It’s called GREED!!!

They want more, & Ellison will do whatever he has to, to get more $$$. And the working people will suffer. Very Christian of Marv.

I can and do support my family on what I make at Lowes, which is why I know Lowes has made my position a target for cuts or elimination.

I really resent the yahoo news coverage in particular. Recently they had a story titled “will Ellison’s initiatives turn Lowes around?” TURN AROUND! We were never heading the wrong way. Year over year we had sustained growth for the last 11 years. The stock has gone from $13.00 to over $100.00 in ten years! All the yahoo did was add their bylines to what ever Lowes corporate sent them. They are lazy and ignorant as a result. Even the most cursory glance at data would reveal that what they are told is incorrect.

This doom and gloom doodoo that Marvin and the ettes spew daily is going to kill this company, and our vaunted fourth estate is going to let them get by with it without painting a clear picture of what is really happening!
