That’s a wrap

It was a great run while it lasted, we all knew we’d lose our jobs eventually

Anyone who stayed after the closings in July and how they bumbled that mess of a lay off /closings is just dumb. It’s over walk away and find happiness. The best thing that could happen has happened. EDMC/DCEH same devil diffent name.

Employers have ways around the WARN notice. They can send one out after the fact if they meet one of the “exceptions” or they don’t have to even send one depending on how many are laid off at once.

https://www.whiteandwilliams.com/resources-alerts-Top-Four-WARN-Mistakes.html

WARN Act requires employers to give notice of any mass layoff, that does not result from a plant closing but will result in an employment loss of 500 or more employees during any 30-day period. The Act also covers employment loss for 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33 percent of the employer's active workforce.

Warn act is only if they have 100+ employees “at a single location” as far as I can tell. In my state’s example if you have 100 employees but they are split between two or more locations, employers don’t have to honor it.

If they lay off 33% of work force over 90 days, they have to offer severance per the warn act.

The company is going bankrupt... are any of us surprised about severance ? We can all be angry but honestly this company was going down well before dceh.
