Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Some Changes Taking Place This Week.

Clubs will have a strict number of associates for each area. Example: Hardlines is 1 full time associate, Center Section is 1 full time and 3 part time associates. Clubs will have a total number of associates they cannot exceed. If your club is over that total amount then associates will be let go to reach that number.

Not hard to believe. As a TL said with all the changes happening with pallet driven sales floor they are probably looking to cut 1/3 of the total club staff. If they move nights to days... Some of the overnight people are not what I would call... People persons.

I believe that. Overnight coming to days and mostly every associate on overnights are full time. If you are an associate on the floor and full time not assigned to bakery produce or deli then you are basically a floor associate that can work all over. I assume if you are full time you will fall in line with one of the shifts 4a-12pm or 3p-11p shift. Part timers will fill in between. If you are full time and can’t work it well go to part time or bye. This company is just that trifling. Look at all the cross training happening right now. Grocery Hardlines Cashier they will use you anywhere.

No this is true. They are simplifing task, just look at bakery and produce layouts. SIMPLE!! They will reduce head count if they are over and will make more associates full time to get more out of the associates.
