Intel plants to Expand its Oregon facilities for the production of 7nm

Not confirmed officially but the author of the article claims to have strong insider info on this. Aparently, the Oregon D1X factory will be expanded an accommodated for production of 7 nm chips.

Interesting development to do “production” locally in TD fab a a departure from decades of methodology must be total loss of confidence in FSM who runs that group now, maybe not a surprise at all keep it all close as columes are shrinking and FSM PEs are mostly CE! id--ts
