Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Diversity

We now have a chief diversity officer and a ceo who signed a diversity pledge. The list describing the diverse groups didn’t mention men or white men. The pledge states he will encourage difficult discussions and make Lowes a safe place for such discussions.

The chief diversity officer put up a picture of the Martin Luther King celebration they had on company time at corporate, she further announced the many celebrations and community outreach events we’ll have during Black history month in February.

I think we see where this is going.

Guarantee I will not participate in any “difficult discussions”, and I certainly will not see Lowes as a “safe place” for me to express how unfair this one sided view of “diversity “ is going to become.

The timing seems right for the possible release of the Michael Jones discrimination court records. What a joke.

Here's an exercise: Look at the management team in your store and tally up all the white males. Compare that to the number of females (of any race). and to that of the nonwhite managers (of any gender). Finally, the managers over or under the age of 40.

My store has 13 managers (LP is gone).

10 white males; 2 nonwhite males; 2 women; 1 under 40

If the company as a whole is anything like where I work The Great White Collapse and Millenial Takeover might yet come, but it ain't imminent.

Age discrimination is very real in this environment.

All should be treated equally and not singled out. It is just wrong no matter how you look at it. Besides are "white" people really a majority anymore. Why does race have to come into play. Can't things be done for betterment of all people. What about age discrimination which is rampant in Lowe's regardless of color or race or religion so why not have posters and classes about that. You would have a hell of a lot better workforce if you utilized and promoted people of age who grew up with strong work ethics and who have learned skills in many facets of life and who grew up learning to treat people with respect. Millenials don't respect their parents much less anyone else older than they are. All discrimination is wrong.

I think Lowe's doesn't need to open this can of worms. I would like to point out, I really feel this is racism, by singleing out perticular races to help. Is it fair that Lowe's does a charity for black lives matter? Because I doubt Lowe's will help the American indians or Asians. I'm completely disgusted in all this. I think it's unfair that my work will support this kind racism. Yes it's racism. Thank you Lowe's for slapping us in the face with this nonsince. Thank you for making me love where I work... Lowe's needs to stay out of this. If Lowe's wants to better our communities then let's help the elderly , kids , veterans, police, or firemen. Not the local black lives matter protesters.

I’m 100% for diversity.

But it should include NO AGE Descrimination!!!

Sadly, I’m a white male in my early fifties. No one gives a sh=t about me or others like me.
