New Scheduling

Heard today that there is a new scheduling system starting by end of 1st quarter. Where it is not so much focused on a budget but by headcount. For instance it showed my front end should only have 5 COS in total compared to the 8 we have now. Hardlines we have 3 and now it wants 1. Cashiers shows us loosing about 15 and so on...

However as a club overall it said we are expected to loose 25 part time and hire 60 full time . All based on a headcount and nothing else.

And that the company is looking to have more full time people instead of part time .

Make sense if you are going to block scheduling especially if nights are moving to days. Simplicity is all it is. Plus if the budget doesnt call for that many people in a specific area, gotta go. We have 4 Pt in gas station when it is calling for 2 FT and 1 PT.

A club will always have a budget to work within.

My CM was very vague in regards to this and said he can not follow it properly in regards to what it is calling for . According to him and our Market Manager we are just going to wait until it is effective enough. However they both said the goal is more full time regardless.

You’re club may just be heavy on pt associates. There are factors to consider when your heavier maybe... college area, many cms like to bring pt then “promote” to ft based upon work etc, or the area manager isn’t holding associates accountable and just end up layering bodies in. Clubs have always been heavy on COS it’s easier typically for scheduling and for flexibility of coverage for fe, desk, cafe, etc.

There is some truth to this but it was very vague. We are awaiting more explanation. Problem is finding people with the availability that works with this headcount.
