Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

MSM layoff is imminent.

MSM supervised PSI and PSE positions. PSI is gone. PSE is moving to an out of store fully appointment based configuration like Home Depot. So Market Sales will not be a thing anymore.

Position is costly and ineffective.

Sorry but you are out.

So, I was a HDI (Home Depot Interiors) rep and sold Kitchen Cabinet Refacing.....and am soon to be a FORMER Lowe's PSI. I know both models very well. I felt like a gypsie in the The Home Depot model. I was an actual employee, but was never looked at that way. I was always considered a vendor, despite my constant store meetings explaining otherwise. Although successful, I never really liked the HDI model - as I never felt connected. I was a mercenary. I LOVED the PSI model much better. However, the PSI process itself was a total mess. Where else in 2019 can a statement like this be made: "Some of the Associates will use M20, while others use 20/20 and still others use A dos-based system from the 1980s to compile estimates, while you use ISST to input 7 to 10 layers of 300 potential individual line items, to they can all reside in a repository as you prepare a sale."

Sure. It’s not you Mom by the way. Overheard the market director discussing it on his phone with someone. If I need to take notes and independently verify all facts I overhear, I guess there isn’t much I can post for y’all. Spew gossip? What do you want me to do? Maybe I could have the MD post here. Or better yet I could have her invite all the users here to a conference call.

Well, the newly titled DSSM is a waste of money & needs to go! In our district, he knows nothing about the kitchen & bath business. He comes in the store with the market director & spews some sarcastic remarks. Try’s to appear he knows what’s going on, & then leaves. The only thing he accomplishes is p-ssing people off.

I am a PSE. I have not heard anything about us being moved out of the store. MSM is now DSSM that is correct.

Can you tell us where your getting your information please!

No matter what the title is, Market Sales Managers(MSM) over the soon to be gone PSI program and the PSE’s, and the Field Service Managers(FSM) over the installers, (but no longer manage Installed Sales Mgrs in CPO markets), all over paid, backpack carrying, laptop punching mo--ns who bring ZERO to the stores but their arrogant behaviors. Eliminate them all. Now.

This will be great if it means ASM sales will be out of here

@XkALKwY- It is amazing when people post things that they have no information about because they do not understand the complexities of the position. HD has this position so if we are turning into HD we have it already yet you have said it is gone. They run the program differently than Lowe's. Could it be gone? Yes! Any position could be in the future. One other point- that position has changed names as well- MSM refers to Merchandising Manager now. DSSM is the role you are referring to District sales and service manager. At least get the names right, before you spew gossip!
