Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Fulfillment centers replacing Clubs could become a trend

Read a couple of articles in the past few weeks about the transformation of previously closed clubs into e-commerce fulfillment centers. Aside from the fact that I find this advertising in the media that Sam ’s is creating a couple of hundred (mostly seasonal) jobs a little perfidious, given that at least that much long-time, hard-working associates were let go at those same locations, I fear this is a beginning of a trend. More and more clubs could have the same faith as the share of e-commerce sales grows. Think that every worker aside from the ones working highly profitable clubs at top locations needs to be afraid.

That sounds good and all, but there are several of the clubs that closed that did not become e-commerce. They were sold off and being renovated into other places.
