Values in Action

Does anyone remember when CVS first introduced Values in Action?

It was a way to show the employees how much we are appreciated!

Well it’s kind of hard when most of the good stuff are 60,000 points and managers are only allowed to give out 1,000 points total a month...

I don’t even know of any managers who give out points anymore. It takes up too much time to give out points on the little time they have already.

This company pretends to appreciate us but they don’t. Especially on “30% off everything weekend(except sale items!)” when we already get 30% off cvs brand and 20% off name brand. So they are really only giving us 10% off more

The VAA program started out because the Annual Engagement survey showed there was zero mechanism in place to reward at store level. The scores on rewards & recognition questions were very low. So, Larry and the leadership came up with a program created by an outside contractor called Values and Actions. At first the awards were much higher and meant more. Now it's come under the earnings chopping block. The program has been diluted to nothing but a costly administrative pain. When it is used it can have a positive impact but the fact that you can only allocate 1000 points keeps the usefulness to a minimum. It's another good idea that has gone the way of expense reduction. HR is a forgotten thing at CVS. Just look around

Love the comments, as they are spot on. Also loved the text from my DL today...... that he was going to the annual "drink the kool aid" meeting in RI, and that he was going to be "trained". Reminded me a lot about Palov's dog.

Values in Action is alot like Learnet. Nobody has any time to do these things anymore because hours are always tight and there are too many other things that need to get done! So they just skip it altogether. Just another way corporate screws it's people!

I don't buy anything. Gets turned in as income and you have to pay taxes on it 40%

You have the program name wrong. It’s Values Inaction!

Just like everything else it’s an attempt at looking like they are giving employees something when in fact they are giving you nothing. If I remember correctly when it started managers were given more points and they carried over one month to the next. Smoke and mirrors!
