Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Quit

I’m a long time store manager and Friday was my last day. Another SM in my district has also turned in his notice, along with an SMIT. Plenty of better jobs out there. Good luck to all.

Folks, There is good life outside of working for CVS. Plenty of jobs exist today. Go to your States employment website. In my state, 100's of retail jobs are listed! The economy is doing really well. You don't necessarily have to work in retail. But if that's your preference many retailers are hiring.

No man, I’m good. You can wait for your bonus. I’ll let the company keep it.

DO NOT leave this company before you are paid your bonus. Contrary to popular belief, there are not that many good jobs out there, unless you are specialized!

Can't wait for my day which will be very soon.

Cfr 9.0 lol I believe that! Company loves to micromanage the very simple task of bringing stock to the floor.

After my meeting with the DL last week I realized my salary will never increase as I have been getting lump sums of 1% of my salary for the last 2 yrs. Was hired in at a good salary 5yrs ago and I'm already capped out. I run a 45k fs 3500script store. Not hv. Was told no raise to run a hv or 24hr as I'm already paid at the cap. Why stay? No more equity bonus which is only 1k every 2yrs who cares. Fs will be cut again next yr I'm sure as they cut me 15% for 2019. I run around filling stock and ringing register all day. Get asked why the Manager is the cashier...my answer is cvs is too frugal to give us hours to have a cashier scheduled.

Bonus was c-ap again this year even tho mcp was 2% over budget and saved over 10k in fs payroll because demand was of course much lower than the green sheet budget.

Was recently helping with a remodel in my district and was talking with the owner/contractor for cvs stores in my area he gave me some insight. New cvs stores will have less of the non beauty/consumables. No soda or chips (unhealthy food). Minute clinics will be called just clinics with Drs instead of nurse practitioners. Nail and hair technicians, like salons. He said 4 ny stores already have this inplace. Makes sense with the aetna deal. I guess not all stores will be like this but all the brand new ones will for 2019. I'm not blowing smoke here just saying what I heard directly from the contractor

This Friday will be my last day. Put 8 years in 4 years in an inner city with high crime in south l.a. wanted to get a transfer closer to home, was told you’re doing fine here. Just wait a few more years and another store will open up for you. Not worth trusting field management. They move and do favors for those that brown nose. Took a 45% pay cut in a different field. So glad I’m not gonna have to see cfr 9.0 rolled on next year. Or having to explain to customers why they can’t use 5 different extra cards even if they do 5 different transactions. No more meetings about a meeting that could’ve been discussed with a simple email. No more my schedule, or having to bail pharmacy out because they can’t or won’t staff their store correctly. No more god awful baseline audits by over paid lazy dapls(worst acronym ever created) Can’t wait to not have to deal with advantage audits or compliance jabronis. Thank you cvs for pushing me to want more than just a pay check. Retail isn’t what it was and won’t ever be what it use to be. If you aren’t ready to retire anytime soon. Look into a construction field with a union after 5 years you’ll be making close to 50 an hour plus two pensions and amazing benefits. This goes for most states. Take control of your life and look for something better. I promise you in ten years d--g store retail won’t be a secure career path. They are gonna gut stores gradually. Act before it’s to late. Cvs s.ie. (S--- it easy)

I am the OP and I took a small pay cut but CVS is not worth all the stress. And as far as waiting around until bonus time. I wasn’t getting a huge one anyways. Plus too good of an opportunity to pass up.
