Those are dictatorships. Social Democracies like the Scandinavian countries are doing just dandy. In fact, they consistently rate as the countries with the greatest happiness, well above ours. Read the constitution, re: "The pursuit of happiness". Fundamental to our democracy, yet we have a president* who is intent on tearing the country apart, attempting to please only the 30-odd percent of this great country who are still dumb enough to believe his constant lies. Are you among the dummies still enthralled by this con man?

Shining a light on government practices is essential for democracy, especially with a con artist like Donny at the helm, with his grifters destroying the agencies meant to protect us from greed and malfeasance of corporations. Taxpayer funding of news organizations, with no opportunity for meddling by politicians, may be the best answer.
