Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Learnet...

Stupid question and I know what you’re all gonna say, but how do you guys find or make time for Learnet courses, now that they have to be done in store, as opposed to at home. Considering that we have no time or hours to take courses. I know you’re all gonna say “we don’t bother, we don’t have time for that” but I figured I’d ask anyway just out of curiosity...

Not allowed to ask for dr. Note for sick calls. Just have to keep in attendance log. Per hr, Also why would you work off clock. Call hr or ethics line. You as well as Sm/ DL can be termed for that.

My 2 cents is that Corporate is sneakily limiting promotions this way also. People probably complained they were doing modules at home and not getting paid for that, so corporate said ok do it in store on the clock and you will get paid. But, knowing that hours are always tight, and knowing that the workload is excessive, corporate figures the side benefit to this is people won’t have time to take these courses and thereby we can limit promotions this way, without officially saying this publicly. Pretty sneaky, but just my thoughts. What better way to keep payroll down than to keep promotions down to a bare-bones minimum. Promotions come with raises, no promotion no raise.

Hourly employees should not be working off the clock. Read your rights, it’s usually posted in your break room. Call the ethics line if you don’t understand what’s the acceptable practice for payroll. If all fails, contact your local department of labor and report it. There are laws that prohibit payroll practices like the ones stated on this forum. Maybe CVS executives will stop turning a blind eye to these already know practices and stop treating you like a dog.

I believe there is a limit to the amount of sick time, what happens if you need it?

Our manager puts in sick pay time when we take modules so it does not go against his demand hours. The DL never bothers to ask how we get it done
